Kesteven and Grantham Girls’ School, we pride ourselves on the confident, well-educated and accomplished young people that graduate each year. We have a consistent record of academic excellence at the highest levels, achieved in an environment that encourages our students to grow and mature into capable, confident adults.

Our school motto, when translated from Latin reads: From This Place Draw True Inspiration. Day-to-day, this means we hope that all members of our school community will inspire, challenge and achieve well as they take part in all that KGGS has to offer. We are ambitious for all our leaners. Our curriculum is knowledge-based to inspire our students, it is rich and ambitious to challenge them and it is engaging and broad to enable them to achieve well.

By offering a curriculum that is in line with the National Curriculum, but which also goes beyond it, we seek to ensure all our learners – regardless of their abilities, talents and needs – to secure the knowledge and cultural capital they need to become global citizens who can exercise choice over their futures and succeed in life.

We are a selective academy in Lincolnshire, bordering the counties of Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Rutland. We have provided a first class education to local students for over a century, opening in 1910. We deliver a traditional approach to education, focused on classroom learning and self-directed study, encouraging and enabling our students to achieve their full potential. Our House system encourages our students to work with each other and develop their leadership and co-operation skills. Our excellent House Pantomime, House Choir and House Dance competitions all highlight how impressive our students are: wholly self-organised, highly motivated, respectful and respected.

The historic centre of the school has been maintained and retains its impressive facade, as does the Sixth Form centre in Harrowby House; with the school now accommodating 1200+ students.

Our staff continually strive to bring out the best in the students, both academically and through a wide range of extra-curricular activities. We have exchange programmes in place with French, German and Japanese schools; offer a Duke of Edinburgh award scheme; regularly compete at national level in a diverse range of extra-curricular activities and present regular musical, choral and dramatic presentations throughout the year. Many of our students perform in sport at county, regional, national and some at international level. This breadth of life experience is the finest gift we have to offer your child, and we are privileged to be in a position to do so.
