Broughton Junior School

Broughton Junior School is a vibrant two form entry Junior School located on the outskirts of Aylesbury town centre. At Broughton Junior School our expectations are high of both staff and children and everyone is valued equally. We strive to make sure our children’s education is rich, stimulating and fun, we also value and appreciate all the children’s hard work and effort during their time in school.

We are privileged that Broughton Junior School sits on a large site, we have spacious grounds, which include a pleasant courtyard area for picnic eating during the warmer months, a play meadow with physical play apparatus and a spacious garden area which provides further learning opportunities for our children. Our ‘partner’ infant school sits opposite us on the same site and this helps smooth the transition between key stages.

We offer a range of after school clubs, as well as a residential visit for years three and five. We are unique in that we lead an exciting book based curriculum with a Resident Writer and official Patron of Reading, James Carter.

Our curriculum is broad and balanced which gives opportunity for the children to showcase their talents in other areas of education, we do this by having the support of specialist teachers in languages and sport, together with access to the latest technologies.

Part of our school vision is to ‘develop an outstanding learning community’, we endeavour to achieve this through our links with the community, parents, governors and other local school partnerships.
