Our 100 or so children come from the beautiful areas of Georgeham and Croyde and, even though we’re officially a small school, we certainly ‘punch above our weight’ – a lovely phrase I heard on the playground once.

Small School, Huge Horizons is a perfect description for our school; one that recognises that we’re small enough for every child to feel nurtured and confident, yet big enough in ambition to enable each and every child to grow and flourish!  In making sure each child lives their lives to the fullest, we have 6 values that underpin this…

Built in 1868, the school has been serving the community for just over 150 years now.  We still have the old logs and registers and almost have to don white gloves to browse through the dusty records.  We’ve helped some locals and some visitors, even previous evacuees, locate their names in the old school log books!

We’re really proud of being the UK’s 1^st Plastic Free School – an award given to us by the charity Surfers Against Sewage.  Our School Councillors did lots of work to almost completely eliminate the use of single-use plastic at school, but they also helped to encourage Devon County Council to massively reduce the use of single-use plastics at County Hall and the work that they do in Devon.  We continue to support other schools to be environmentally aware after featuring in the news and radio, many of the National Newspapers and even being mentioned by the Education Minister!

Georgeham really is a special place.  It’s not just me saying so, as we hear this from many visitors as we show them around and everyone always compliments the children for being so great.  Please do get in touch and find out for yourself!
