Bourne Grammar School

At Bourne Grammar School we pride ourselves on our academic achievements from Year 7 all the way to Year 13 which has been aided by the outstanding level of teaching available at our School.

However, we have found that it is what happens outside the classroom that defines us most, something that has become clear to us through our experience as Head Students.

This year we have aimed to strengthen Student Leadership in School through the transformed Student Council and Committee system which has enabled us to hear feedback, most importantly student voice, from all ends of the School to improve everyone’s experience here. Acting on this feedback has involved organising assemblies, activities for charity, mentoring schemes, all of which have been student-led and designed with the aim of creating rich and formative experiences for all members of our community.

In School there is a culture of shared high expectations which challenges us to develop as individuals. Inevitably, we all struggle from time to time to meet these expectations yet we gain confidence from the abundance of support available from our teachers, pastoral staff, our peers, and everyone around us. This has enabled us to not only achieve the unthinkable, but also develop a mindset for perseverance and determination to lead us into the future and we hope this is the same for all students who are lucky enough to come to BGS!
