Churchfields Junior School

An education at Churchfields is broadly traditional, academic and rigorous. We want to provide pupils with an education that equips them with the knowledge, skills, cultural capital and confidence they will need to thrive in their next stage of schooling, university and beyond.

We work hard to provide excellence and expect pupils at school and at home to work hard too.  We want parents and carers to play an active part in their child’s education and to support our staff.

We provide a school where pupils can concentrate and where they feel safe to work hard and learn from excellent teaching and a rich curriculum.

Churchfields Junior School is situated in South Woodford in the London Borough of Redbridge. Our school opened in 1874 and has occupied the same site over three centuries. In 2011 a rebuild was completed to provide purpose-built accommodation.

At Churchfields Junior School we are committed to helping every child succeed, irrespective of background or starting point. We want to create a safe, healthy and supportive school culture and ethos which creates the conditions for every pupil to thrive.

We aim to offer our pupils rich and exciting learning opportunities that will help them to achieve and inspire them to do their very best. We devised our aims as a whole staff. At the beginning of each academic year we identify which aims we particularly wish to focus on.
